Snow Globes

Applying the glowing look to your snow globes is rather easy. This is done by backlighting the globes with LED colored lights. LED stand for Light Emitting Diode. These LED lights come in different styles, sizes and colors. In the past, safety concerns were high with colored lights as they would become hot over a period of time. With LEDs you need not worry, they are UL certified and are cool to the touch. They are even energy efficient! You can easily achieve different moods with different colors. A wintry glow is created by selecting a pale blue color of light. If your preferences tend to lean towards the wild side you can simply use red or select multi colored lights. These colors will not flake off or fade with time.

To display your glowing snow globes you�ll need to select a sturdy table and designate an area in your room that is suitable for your collection. Make sure that you have close access to an electrical outlet and/or light switch. Cover the table surface with pelon or other material that will simulate snow. Position snow globes on snow simulated surface and string the lights behind the snow globes. The spacing between each snow globe should equal the spacing of the LED lights; that is about 4 inches. Place at least one LED light behind each snow globe. Affix tape to the string of LEDs to stay in place if needed.
