Modern Art Mother Sculpture

Modern Art SculpturesEnglish sculptor Henri Moore (1898-1986) also followed his creative muse, and strayed from the path of realism, to a freer form of expression. His works, done primarily in wood, stone and cement, are referred to as having “organic” shape, being smooth, and having flowing lines. His favorite subjects were a reclining figure, or a mother and child, in which he often left hollowed spaces, emphasizing that space itself, was as important as mass. Today, the general interpretation of modern art sculpture, has come to be associated with metal works, that are simply decorative, or have some function. The human figure remains a favorite subject, with mother, mother and child, or family group modern art sculptures, or else single figures/forms that have been created to serve as candle holders, paperweights, and pen holders. | ||||||
