Large Wind Chimes
For those of you who enjoy an expansive yard, large wind chimes are an elegant way to add some character without incorporating a huge project. Although they are a bit unwieldy to put up, they are extremely rewarding. The resonant sounds and the visual image more than make up for the extra bit of work and hardware that it takes to secure large wind chimes.
Be sure that you have enough room to accommodate large chimes before purchasing them. Since even they are available in a variety of sizes, it is important to measure the length of the area where your chimes will be hung. It is important to give them enough room to sway in response to the gentle caress of the wind.
Large wind chimes come in just as many themes and materials as smaller wind chimes. Typically, various types of metal, ceramic, or bamboo are used to craft such chimes. The resulting music is dependent upon the size of the chimes, the material used, and whether the tubing is hollow or solid. Although the size is somewhat larger than the more commonly purchased wind chimes, the melody is just as beautiful.
