Discount Picture FramesAnd, who says picture frames can only be used for pictures? They are great for showing off certificates and awards, special letters, wedding invitations, and anything else that holds sentimental value, including precious artwork made by children or grandchildren. Picture frames are perfect for enclosing dried flowers and other naturals that you want to incorporate into the room, but that you also want to protect from dust and damage. Deep frames can be used as trays, with a bit of lace or a doily behind the glass, to display perfume bottles, candles, or small collectibles. A picture frame without the glass is also still useful. It can be used in a variety of ways, such as to frame interesting fabric, tapestry, or to create one of a kind message boards or bulletin boards. Or, you can hang the frame on the wall to accent a sconce or other art piece. Get creative. There are so many great varieties of picture frames and there are just as many different ways to use them. The best part is that adding picture frames is one of the simplest ways to update any space. Picture FramesOne of the more unique picture frames, and a wonderful gift for new parents, is the kind that comes with multiple openings for photos. For example, you might get a polished, natural wood oval frame that has once central opening in the matt for a newborn picture, circled by 12 smaller openings in which to place a picture each month of the baby’s first year. Other multiple opening frames, with varied sizes in the matt, are excellent choices for a variety of family portrait shots. Depending on where you wish to hang it, this type of arrangement for several photos fits nicely into a large, antique frame for hanging over a couch, or making a focal point on a wall. If you have several children, or siblings, and you would like to hang pictures of all the family, consider unusual arrangements and locations such as on a stairwell. These are the perfect place to take a set of identical frames, whether wood, metal, pewter, or other materials, and hang them at intervals along the stairs. The easiest tip for doing this, is to put your anchor in the wall, at exactly the same distance up from each step. But decide first, how many pictures you will be hanging, and how far apart you are going to spread them. This may work out to every third step, fifth step, etc. That helps you to space them evenly, and with less fuss. For more intimate photos of the family, try using a grouping that is centered around a single photo, figuratively, if not literally. A handsome silver frame of parents who have just celebrated their 25th anniversary, can stand proudly in the middle of a line of similar, but smaller picture frames lined up on each side of it, holding pictures of the children and grandchildren. This works well on mantles, sideboards, and large dressers. For smaller surfaces, group smaller pictures around a large central picture frame. Depending on your current decorating scheme, you may want picture frames to match. One tip is to find a craft class that can teach you how to make fabric frames from the same material that covers your couch or the throw pillows. Alternatively, if you purchase plain frames in wood or metal, and you have a rose patterned couch, you can purchase small silk roses that match the pattern, and glue them onto a corner of the frame, making a complement to the slipcovers, that you can sit on an end table. This trick is also great for special occasion gifts, when you know someone has a penchant for gardening, or a particular hobby. Simply get the little additions like flowers, lace, bows, tiny stuffed animals or other decorations, and glue them to the frame for a personal touch. Decorating with picture frames is much easier than you ever imagined. And once your imagination gets to work, you’ll surprise yourself and everyone else with creative ideas of your own. | ||||||||
