 | The air is crisp, the leaves are falling and the ground is frosty. Fall has finally arrived. With all the beautiful brilliant colors outside, it’s time to start thinking about doing a little fall decorating inside. It’s incredibly easy to add a touch of fall inside your home.
One wonderful thing about being indoors in the fall are all the wonderful scents. Apple cider, pumpkin pie and cinnamon are the scents we love to be surrounded with this time of year. To add a quick fall feel to your home place some scented candles in various rooms in fall-theme candle holders. You’ll delight in the warm glow in contrast to the cold wind outside, and enjoy the wonderful scent that permeates your home. If you don’t have fall-theme candle holders, simply wrap a sprig of faux fall leaves around the base of a candle holder for a quick transformation.

Fall Decorations
Another great way to bring fall into your home is to think “harvest”. Add a fall runner to your dining table and a harvest centerpiece. Use a cornucopia filled with apples or miniature gourds, or surround a candle with acorns and colorful leaves. Wrap napkin holders or stems of glasses with silk fall flowers, and place a fall wreath or floral arrangement on the wall.
For touches of fall in other areas, add a wooden basket filled with pinecones on a side table, and drape a warm throw in autumn colors over the couch. Gather some fall flowers in a vase and place it on the mantle, and run a garland of fall leaves above the front door.
Outside the front door place a pumpkin and some large gourds on the stoop, or create a sheaf of dried corn stalks tied together with an orange and yellow ribbon. Hang a welcoming wreath with a fall theme on the front door, or make one yourself with pinecones or acorns.
It’s simple and quick to bring the outdoor beauty of fall inside your home. Simply add a few touches of fall colors and scents and your home will truly feel like fall. |
